About the Course

Deceleration training is NOT just about slowing down! When your athlete learns to properly decelerate from a sprint, a jump or a side-shuffle, she puts herself in a better position to win and to stay free from injury. Research has shown that female athletes suffer non-contact knee injuries at a much higher rate than their male counterparts. Many of those injuries are related to improper deceleration. In this course you will discover many useful skills, drills and techniques to assist you in training your female athletes the proper way to slow down, thereby improving performance efficiency and effectiveness!

Developing an effective speed training program is more than just teaching your athlete to be fast! It's also about teaching them to slow down at the appropriate time, and in a safe and efficient manner. Research shows that female athletes suffer non-contact knee injuries, many of them attributable to improper deceleration, at a rate much higher than males. This course will arm you with the skills and knowledge necessary to teach your athlete how to effectively decelerate, which can translate to an improvement in their performance and safety on the field.
