E.J. “Doc” Kreis is co-author of the ISSA's Strength and Conditioning Certification course. Kreis is in his third season as UCLA’s head speed-strength and conditioning coach. In addition to working directly with football and men’s basketball, he oversees all operations in UCLA’s 15,000-square foot weight room.
In 2001, Doc Kreis was named one of ten Master Strength and Conditioning Coaches by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association—the highest honor for a strength and conditioning coach. Doc Kreis was also named National Collegiate Strength Coach of the Year in both 1991–92 and 1994–95, and was the recipient of the 1995 Stan Jones Award. On June 1, 2003, Doc Kreis was inducted into the USA Strength and Conditioning Coaches Hall of Fame.
Prior to arriving at UCLA, Doc Kreis spent over ten years as an assistant athletic director and the head coach for speed-strength and conditioning at the University of Colorado. He was also the strength and conditioning coach at Georgia Southern (1978-80) and Vanderbilt (1980-85).
