Steroid Use Getting Easier to Hide
Carpinteria, CA – November 5, 2007 – According to athletic training expert and co-founder of the ISSA, Dr. Fred Hatfield, steroid use by both professional and amateur athletes is getting easier to hide. This week on his XM Satellite Radio program, exercise physiologist and certified personal trainer Bob Greene speaks with Dr. Hatfield about the history of steroid use, as well as the signs and side effects of performance-enhancing drug use.
Do you know someone who you think may be using steroids? Signs of steroid use often include:
- sudden weight gain;
- increased strength;
- deepening of the voice;
- muscular growth beyond the norm;
- growth of facial hair in women.
Side effects of steroid use can include liver failure, extreme aggressive behavior, coma, or other adverse side effects for those at risk of diabetes or those who have diabetes.
